We regret to announce the cancellation of the 2009 HAA Global Series conference in Cape Town, South Africa, that had been scheduled for March 27–29, 2009.

The current economic climate, and the resulting challenges to both the University and to so many of our alumni and friends, have led us to revisit the wisdom of a trip of this magnitude at this time. Harvard has many alumni in Africa, as well as partnerships, activities, and scholarly engagements that are very much worth celebrating. President Faust looks forward to visiting Africa and expects to do so in the coming academic year.
