HAA Global Series: Shanghai, A Great Success
The 2008 HAA Global Series conference attracted over 600 alumni and friends from over 31 countries to a first class weekend of intellectual conversations and networking opportunities in Shanghai, China.
President Drew Faust with Provost Steve Hyman and Vice Provost for International Affairs Jorge Domínguez led a delegation of various Harvard deans and faculty to the conference who in partnership with local experts spoke on a variety of topics ranging from “Asia, Harvard and the World: Our Common Problems in the 21st Century” to “Constitutions — Visible and Invisible”. In addition, Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai talked about “Shanghai: 2010 and Beyond” followed by Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China Wan Gang’s commented on “The Role of Science, Technology, and Innovation in China’s Economy at China’s Current and future Stages of Development”.
The HAA is very grateful to the President of the HAA, Jonathan Byrnes DBA ’80, the Harvard Club of Shanghai and all other volunteers from the region who made the event so successful.
