The Annual Meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association
The 140th Annual Meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association was observed on Thursday, June 4, 2009.
Walter H. Morris, Jr. AB '73, MBA '75, HAA President, 2008-2009, hosted the afternoon program, which included the announcement of Overseer and Director elections; the presentation of the Harvard Medals; an address by President Drew Faust; and remarks by Dr. Steven Chu, United States Secretary of Energy.
All Harvard alumni were invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the HAA. College alumni who attended their major reunions, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 35th, 50th, and beyond, as well a members of the Class of 2009 from the College and the graduate schools, were in the audience along with members of the Harvard community.
More than 800 volunteers organized over 280 Harvard College pre-reunion and reunion events, which led to our hosting of 6,500 alumni and guests who were in town for Commencement.
The date for next year's Commencement is May 27, 2010.
